On 24th of August 2018, AFMY delegation visited Jamiat Islami Sri Lanka headquarters in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. AFMY’s delegation was led by AFMY Secretary General, Dr Abdul Muntaqim Abu Bakar, together with IMBNet Secretary General, Mr Kamal Ismail. They were welcomed by representatives of Jamiat Islami Sri Lanka Mr M. Rafique and Mr Faris Saly.
This visit was done in conjunction with the Qurban and humanitarian mission in Sri Lanka, in which carried out by AFMY together with several other NGOs. The mission was performed in collaboration with local NGO, Serendib Foundation of Sri Lanka.
Some discussion was made surrounding current issues related to the Muslim Ummah. The meeting also discussed regarding AFMY and IMBNet registration renewal as both organisations are registered in Sri Lanka.
During the working visit to Sri Lanka, AFMY and IMBNet’s delegation were brought to business areas like factories and markets. The visit was done as a way to discuss and share regarding current economic development of Muslim community particularly in Sri Lanka.
